All in One SEO – Description missing or not showing? This one was pretty hard to track down readers. If you have WordPress running on your blog and you are using the most popular and awesome plug-in AIOSEO. This is probably going to be an easy one to fix. Usually what is happening is that your blog theme’s header is set to display the following description code, which will return your site’s tagline.
<meta name=”description” content=”<?php bloginfo(‘description’); ?>” />
This will interfere with All in One SEO – Description field. It will literally prevent the correct description tag from displaying in a users browser and also to search engine spiders. Remove that line from your header.php file and your AIOSEO plug-in should work just fine. On the other hand if this does not fix your problem you are most likely experiencing a settings conflict.

If your All in One SEO – Description missing or not showing, check out the header.php file associated with your theme. You just might be kicking yourself for using that theme. As its fairly obvious that we would want our page descriptions to match our content. Not to have it pulled from the same database cell and field, each and every time. Theme developers would do good to in fact leave this line out of their header all together, or better even to determine if a function exists, and to display the function or the tag tine depending on plug-in configuration.
